Detroit Lions @ Chicago Bears 11-11-2018

The Bears entered the game in first place in the NFC Central, the Detroit Lions were on the bottom of the division.

The Bears struck first with an 8 play TD drive. A possession that was as easy as taking candy from a baby. The extra point was no good as it banged off of the right upright. Lions 0 – Bears 6

The Lions attempted to respond with a drive of their own but R. Smith halted the drive with a sack. The Lions had to punt the ball away.

M. Trubiski showed off his arm as he marched the Bears down for their second TD of the game, M. Trubisky hit A. Robinson for what looked to be a 33 yard TD strike. The extra point was no good again as hit the upright. Lions 0 – Bears 12

As the Lions defense looked flat and unable to stop the Bears, Trubisky hit A. Miller on a play action play for another TD. The third extra point was also no good as this one hit the left upright. Everyone in the stadium seemed to be wondering what was going on with Cody Parkey. Lions 0 – Bears 19

Still scoreless Matthew Stafford threw an interception, picked of by Callahan in Detroit territory. As the Bears looked to put more points on the board the Lions frustration showed as a personal foul was called on Jarrad Davis as he gave a scrambling Trubisky a push about 5 yards outside of the sideline. This put the Bears inside the 10. Trubisky was able to get the last laugh as he finished the drive with a rushing TD of his own. Lions 0 – Bears 26

With the help of a pass interference call the Lions were able to get into the end zone. K. Johnson went airborne and dove into the end zone. Lions 7 – Bears 26

The Bears looked as if they had taken the gas off the peddle and Detroit was able to put 3 more point up with a 52 yard field goal. Lions 10 – Bears 26

The Bears opened the 2nd half with a drive that stalled at about the 25, they attempted the field goal but guess what, it hit the right upright and was no good.

The Lions were threatening again in the third until Eddie Jackson was stripped of the ball by the Bears’ defense.

The Bears drove the ball down to the 25 and looked to put more points on the board, however again Cody Parkey hit the right upright and missed again. Fourth missed kick of the game.

The Bears weren’t done yet as they poured on 6 more points in the third, Trubisky to Robinson, there second connection on the day. The Bears decided to go for two this time and were successful passing it in. Lions 10 – Bears 34.

As it looked as if the Lions were going to make a move M. Stafford tossed a beautiful pass into the air, the only problem was that it was picked off by the Bears’ P. Amukamara.

The Lions were able to pick up another 6 points after a Bears personal foul committed by 99 Aaron Lynch. Stafford tossed a short TD pass to Golladay. Two point conversion was no good. Lions 16 – Bears 34

The Lions then recovered an onside kick that had them inside the Bears 40. The Lions then ended their drive with a 18 yard pass to K. Johnson. 13 yard toss. Lions attempted another 2pt conversion but it was unsuccessful. Lions 22 – Bears 34 Final
