My Fitness Journey

Deeeeeep Breath…….. Ok, I am not quite sure where to begin, but I guess I can start by giving you some information about myself. Mid 40’s male and possibly facing the midlife crisis area (LOL), very much an introvert, however, as I get to know an individual the more I open up and become quite friendly, also I am not great at introducing myself to strangers. I guess that is the reason why i’m in the field that I am, “accounting”, sitting in an office all day, crunching numbers or as some may say bean counting. As time has gone by, I can’t help but remember the days when I had time to go to the gym, participate in sports, play video games, hang out with friends. This may sound like activities for children but you do realize that some people actually get paid to do these things, and paid handsomely. I guess what I am saying is I want to enjoy life again, and on my terms. Don’t get me wrong, I have a nice life, beautiful wife, family members that I love, roof over my head and food in my refrigerator. I am very much grateful for it all.

How it started

Today, I woke up and just like every other weekday prepared to get ready for work, and as I putting on my button down shirt in the mirror I noticed something. I thought to myself, wait, wait a minute, why does my shirt look bulky in the stomach area. I thought maybe the shirt was a little big in the stomach area but as I pushed down on my shirt to flatten it, it didn’t flatten, nope my stomach was filling that area. That can’t possibly be, I said I would never get a stomach like that. I immediately took my shirt off and took a deep breath in, holding it for a while, as I exhaled and relaxed, I had to finally admit to myself that I have let myself go.

Action Plan

Soo, I have decided to immediately work on this by watching my diet and excercising.  The only way I believe I can keep myself accountable is maintaining a record of what I’m doing each day to get myself to the person I use to be.  I have decided that I am going to publish each days workout or activities that I am doing to make sure that I am getting at least 1 hour of excercise, along with keeping track of my eating habits on the fitbit app.  If you would like to follow along or send me ideas please do, as I have to reverse this quickly.  Today is May 3rd 2022, later today I will post the following for record.
